Blue Amber - 100x100 cm

In Blue Amber, layers of blue and warm amber circle a quiet, luminous centre. Where the natural cotton canvas shines through the transparent layers, the colours look as if light were falling through them. The painting is part of the Gemstone Layers series, inspired by the colours and textures of real gemstones. Blue amber is one of the rarest kinds of amber: in the shade it glows golden brown, while in sunlight it suddenly shimmers blue.

It is known as a stone of warmth and clarity, said to calm the soul and bring confidence. This painting carries the same energy: it combines the comfort of warm tones with the spaciousness of blue and fills a room with a quiet glow.
