Ein Werk aus meiner Gemstone Layers Serie, inspiriert vom gleichnamigen Edelstein und seinem schillernden Farbspiel. Wie eine sich öffnende Blüte legen sich transparente Ringe in Kirschrot, Pflaume und tiefem Smaragdgrün übereinander. Wo sich die Farben kreuzen, entstehen immer neue Zwischentöne von Violett bis dunklem Petrol, so wie der Stein je nach Lichteinfall seine Farbe wechselt. Im Zentrum bleibt ein kleiner Kreis frei, durch den die Naturleinwand hindurchscheint und dem Bild einen stillen Mittelpunkt gibt.

A piece from my Gemstone Layers series, inspired by the gemstone of the same name and its shimmering play of color. Like a flower slowly unfolding, translucent rings of cherry red, plum and deep emerald green are layered on top of one another. Where the colors cross, new shades emerge, from violet to dark teal, just as the stone shifts its color depending on the light.
At the center, a small circle is left open, letting the natural canvas shine through and giving the painting a quiet focal point.
